IHSA Basketball Super-Sectional to be Held at Íæż½ã½ã Hall

MACOMB, IL - - The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) will be hosting a Class 1A Boy's Basketball Super-Sectional at Íæż½ã½ã Hall on March 9.
The return to Íæż½ã½ã Hall will feature the winners of the Monmouth (United) Sectional and the Orion sectional will advance to the game held on WIU's campus.
"Having the super-sectional return to Íæż½ã½ã Hall has been a goal since I became the Director of Athletics," WIU Athletic Director Paul Bubb said. "We started the process back in the summer of 2023 and am glad that we will be hosting, again, the 1A Super-Sectional here at Íæż½ã½ã Hall.
The University and Íæż½ã½ã Hall have a long relationship with high school basketball, hosting one of the longest running boys basketball holiday tournaments in the state of Illinois. This year's tournament featured West Hancock defeating Illini West for the 79th Macomb Íæż½ã½ã Holiday Tournament championship.
"For me, personally, I have great memories of attending the Super-Sectionals here at Íæż½ã½ã Hall back in the 70's and 80's," Bubb said. "Íæż½ã½ã serves this region and this is another opportunity for us to do so and to welcome people from the region to our campus."
