Donahoo Named Interim Director of Alumni Relations

MACOMB, IL - - Íæż½ã½ã Director of Donor Relations and Special Events Drew Donahoo has been named the interim director of Alumni Relations, effective immediately.
Donahoo, a 2011 WIU graduate, has worked at the University for more than 10 years. He has served in his current role since 2022. In that role, he coordinates donor recognition events, manages stewardship initiatives and plays a key role in fostering relationships with WIU alumni and donors.
"During the 2010-11 school year, I completed a graduate assistantship in Alumni Relations," Donahoo said. "Fifteen years later, having the opportunity to return to Alumni Relations feels very full-circle. I'm looking forward to building on the strong foundation we have, bring my experiences from Donor Relations and continue creating meaningful experiences for Leathernecks of all generations."
Previously, Alumni Relations was led by Amy Spelman, who coordinated efforts to enhance alumni engagement and pride in WIU. Spelman retired at the end of July.
"Drew has been one of WIU's best supporters, and he will bring enthusiasm to this position," Interim Executive Director for Advancement and Alumni Relations Amy Crosby said. "His appointment will further strengthen the integration of alumni engagement within WIU's Advancement program."
As interim director, Donahoo will oversee alumni programming, outreach and events. He will lead the Alumni Relations team in continuing to build lifelong connections between alumni and WIU and expanding the program's presence both regionally and nationally.
