Assistantship Positions

Also, positions listed below may have already been filled. It is the student's responsibility to verify availability with the hiring departments.

Graduate Assistantship - 1 position available
Macomb campus 鈥� Fall 2025/Spring 2026
School of Education - America Reads Program

The School of Education has openings for the Fall 2025/Spring 2026 semesters with the America
Reads Program. Candidates for this position must be eligible to file a Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2025-2026 academic year and be eligible for Federal Work
Study.

Before applying, please note: *Only U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens with an alien
registration number can file for FAFSA. **International students are not eligible to hold these
positions as international students do not meet the FAFSA or Federal Work Study
eligibility requirements. **

Position duties:
鈼� Assist in local grade school tutoring programs
鈼� Oversee volunteers
鈼� Recruit volunteers for the program
鈼� Write reports for the program
鈼� Tutor students when necessary
鈼� Assist professors in the School of Education (classroom prep, research, etc.) as
needed

Requirements:
鈭� Fully accepted into a graduate program
鈭� Be available each afternoon 2:00-5:00 p.m.
鈭� Minimum 3.0 graduate GPA
鈭� Be a self-starter
鈭� Have strong communication and organization skills
鈭� Familiar with Excel, Word, etc.
鈭� Strong oral English proficiency
鈭� Have strong professional dispositions and the ability to work as a team member
within a group.
鈼� Must have reliable transportation
